Did EGO lie about being a Celestial??

**SPOILERS FOR MARVEL'S ETERNALS**

Stop reading if you haven't seen Eternals yet and you don't want the film spoiled!

In Marvel's Eternals, we learn the origin of the Celestial Beings and their purpose in life. The Celestials are the oldest being in the universe. These entities have a vast powers oversteer and energy manipulation. Existing since the dawn of time, Celestials created suns, solar systems, planets, and life throughout the cosmos.

In order to create more Celestials and push the boundaries of life in the Universe, they seeded planets with nascent Celestials. After billions of years, when the planet reaches a large enough population, the seeded Celestial will emerge from the planets core thereby destroying the host planet and feeding on the proverbial essence of the apex creatures on said planet.

Now, why am I telling you this? And how does this apply to EGO: The Living Planet? Well et me explain.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'. As a sentient Celestial being, EGO started as a brain that eventually grew smarter, crafted a planet and a body, and searched for life, as well as a purpose. While EGO had indeed found life among the stars, he ultimately found it to be lacking. It really didn't impress him, which ultimately helped him find a purpose for himself: to wipe the slate clean and remake the universe in his own image.

Now why is this backstory important? Well, it's important because it seems to go against the new canonical information the MCU has presented through the new 'Eternals' film.
Now, here is theory. EGO lied about being a Celestial. Here is the evidence.

1. EGO has no recollection of his creation nor seems to know how a Celestial is created. He explains that he just sort of popped into existence.

2. He doesn't resemble the other Celestials. Which all quite closely resemble one another.

3. EGO's self-claimed purpose was to eradicate all life in the Universe and mold it into his own image. This goes against the missions of Celestials, so it seems. Celestials help intelligent life progress for a specific reason that is noble in their eyes. EGO's goal is to take it for selfish reasons.

4. If EGO was truly a Celestial, wouldn't he have sensed the presence of another Celestial on Earth? Especially since the Emergence (Celestial birth) would be arriving in a short period of 10-11 years.

In conclusion, I believe that EGO is in fact a Cosmic Virus. Viruses are known for being intrusive to the host. Making them weak and taking over while catching them off guard. So, it would make since. Now, whether EGO lied about being Celestial, I can't say for sure. It is possible however that he believes he is one.

But tell me, what do you think about this theory. Is EGO really a Celestial? Is he a Cosmic Virus? Or is he something else entirely different? Or, is it possible EGO is a different class of Celestial?
