My Dog Skip

If you haven't seen My Dog Skip you have been depriving yourself of a masterpiece. A feel good, coming of age film about an outsider boy, Will, and his dog, Skip. Frankie Muniz, plays the character, Will, who is a sensitive 9 year-old boy who is an outsider in his small town. 

Taking place in the 1940's during WWII. Will says goodbye to his best, and only, friend and hero Dink Jenkins (Wilson) as he is sent off to war. Seeing how hard Will is taking it his mother (Lane) decides to go behind her husband's (Bacon) back and get Will a dog. Even though Will's father is very disgruntled about his sons gift from his mother he allows Will to keep the dog. 

Based on a true story. The bond of friendship and love between Will and Skip is something that can not be compared.
