Halloween Kills (2021)

 **POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD**

"Halloween Kills", The middle installment to David Gordon Green's "Halloween" trilogy that began with 2018's "Halloween". With it itself being a direct sequel to John Carpenter's 1978 film "Halloween", under the same name.

"Halloween Kills" had much of what you would expect from modern slasher films. Complete with excess amounts of blood, gore, and characters who are ignorant of practically ever scary/horror movie trope which leads to their ultimate demise.

The film picks up directly where its predecessor left off, Halloween 2018. It goes on to show how Michael Meyers' influence and terror back 40 years earlier has shaped the town and its survivors. Upon hearing the news of Michael Meyers escape, Tommy Doyle, portrayed by Anthony Michael Hall (Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Weird Science) and the rest of the survivors rally the town of Haddenfield to hunt down The Shape (Michael Meyers), and put and end to his reign of evil and the grip of terror he holds on upon the citizens of Haddonfield.

Laurie Strode however, has been hospitalized for the duration of the film. Having been almost fatally stabbed by Meyers in the concluding events of the proceeding film.

This "Halloween" installment is unlike any other. The Shape's kills count is the highest in franchise history. And his method of murder, is more brutal than any prior films.

While the jump scares may be scarce, the over the top bloodfest is at an all-time high. If you're looking for a good slasher film, look no further than "Halloween Kills".
