Dune (2021)

Dune (2021), while visually stunning and well performed, the film itself was quite boring and unnecessarily slow. As well, the constant singing of the choir made me want to rip my ears off. I'm not going to say "Don't waste your money" because I believe that art is subjective to those who view it.

If you want to experience the full experience of the film, go see it in theaters. If you just want to watch the film without the full experience, just watch it on HBO MAX. It's pretty much the same, and you'll save money.

However, like I mentioned before, the film is a visual masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve really did bring the film to life in his directing. The cast was also well chosen. The chemistry between them was so close and so well performed that I truly saw these actors and actresses as these characters and not as past characters that they have portrayed.

Overall though, I still prefer Dune (1984) over this new portrayal. Maybe it's nostalgia or maybe it's Sting's 'Feyd Rautha', but Dune (1984) will always be superior to me.

Still, that doesn't mean I'm not excited for Denis Villeneuve's next chapter in the Dune Saga.
